Rod’s new album ‘Stardust – The Great American Songbook’ has crashed into the Official UK Albums Charts at No.3, his highest placing since ‘When We Were The New Boys’ which made No.2 in 1998!

Rod enters just behind Robbie Williams who claims the top spot with his greatest hits set and Ronan Keating who is at No. 2 also with a hits album.

The first volume of ‘The Great American Songbook’ released in 2002 reached No. 8, whilst the second volume released last year made No. 4. Sales of the latest edition are expected to rocket following BBC’s ‘One Night With Rod’ broadcast at peak time last night.

Meanwhile, ‘Stardust’ is expected to enter the American Billboard chart at No. 1 on Thursday!
