How to renew my subscription

A step by step guide how to renew an existing SMILER membership

In the summer of 2020 we created a new website and moved all membership data to the new site. When switching, various adjustments were made: The membership had been linked to the member’s email address (and no longer to the membership number). Members receive an expiration reminder by email and membership renewals had been greatly simplified. At the request of many members, payments can now also be made directly by credit card without a PayPal account.

Existing members who joined on our old site:
Your membership has to be converted into a subscription once. Check the status of your membership in the My Account section:

Click on “Memberships” on the left. Should you see the above comment, then you have to buy a subscription. Follow this link and buy a new one year membership.

Should you see a membership plan with a start date listed, then you may proceed with the normal renewal process as described below:

All members who joined on the new site (since summer 2020) or who converted their “old” membership to a new subscription can renew the membership in the “My account” section. Choose “My Subscription” on the left and hit the “RENEW NOW” button:
