Another blistering Friday night to start the weekend as the tour hits Charlotte, Amanda Ingram Brennaman got these shots..

And Johnny Price from I’m Music Magazine let us share this superb shot as did Shutter 16 Magazine who also took a fantastic shot of Rod with his rose.

Mara Alexandru took these great shots and said the concert at PNC was AMAZING!

And Glenna Rowland took these shots and told SMILER ‘I am a Rod fan, ans am going to see him again in Vegas September 24’. So hopefully Glenna will get some more good pictures.

Meghan White Tieff went with her Mama and told SMILER ‘When I was 17, my Mama took me to see Rod Stewart with her and her girlfriends, so last nights concert was extra special because 30 years later, we got to do it again together.
One of the best shows I have ever been to. Amazing!! Rods still got it!! Wow!!!!’

‘It was an amazing memorable night and Rod was absolutely amazing!!! My mom is 76 !!!! We loved every second . I’ll never forget it’ Meghan also got some great shots

And one of our regular SMILER photographers Karen Chande did not disappoint with these fantastic photos of the band including our main photo of Rod and told us ‘Rod was happy with the audience, telling us “good singing” several times! Also there was a very lively security guard who, while still doing her job of looking out at the audience, was singing and dancing! Rod loved it! He went over to her several times for a fist bump and applauding her. 👍 A very fantastic and memorable night!’

Ameris Bank Amphitheatre, Alpharetta, GA

As Wednesday brought August to a close we go back a couple of weeks for this picture to August 7th when Rod got a photo taken with DJ, Producer and Remixer Max Zotti who told SMILER ‘The photo was taken on august 7th it was in Positano (Amalfi coast -Italy) at Music on the rocks disco club) where I am the artistic director and the resident DJ’

Sweet Caroline

Sir Tom Jones has revealed that Rod stepped in to sing Sweet Caroline at this years Jubilee concert after he pulled out, Tom was asked to sing a duet with Dame Shirley Bassey and told The Mirror

“I thought it was a good idea. She would be the surprise guest and I would’ve said, ‘Here is Dame Shirley Bassey to help me with the next song’.

“Then I would do mine and then we would do a duet. Which is fair enough but if she could not do that then she did not want to do it.”

In the end neither singer performed. Sir Tom said that was also down to him being asked to “run up and down a ramp” while singing Sweet Caroline because he is awaiting a hip replacement.

He added: ” Rod Stewart ended up doing it. It was all very much up in the air so Rod said, ‘I will do it’.”

Tracks Of My Years

As part of Tuesdays Tracks Of My Years on Radio 2 Vic Reeves [Jim Moir] chose Maggie May as one of his tracks explaining that he still thinks it sounds as fresh today as the first time he heard it, and said the song was his and many other peoples favourite song, when he heard it for the first time he went home and painted a picture of Rod on his bedroom wall, we don’t have a picture of that painting but here is one of his many Rod paintings that are available to buy as prints, this one was done in 2018 .

He also told the story about having competitions to see if you could hold a kiss from the start of a song until the end and he and his girlfriend decided to try and kiss for a whole album choosing Every Picture Tells A Story!
