Rod out dressed at The Ritz
Here is an update to the story last week when we reported about Rod’s visit to the Ritz.
As usual Rod stood out dressed in a fancy black and silver suit and sparkly shoes..But even he was out dressed by Cormac Boylan who was on a visit to the Ritz from Melton in Leicestershire and was wearing a striking black and red suit with hearts on
Talking to SMILER this week Cormac said “I was in the Ritz when Rod approached me and loved my suit. I knew I out dressed him that night”
“We had a chat for about 10 minutes. I asked him for a photo and he obliged but only if I told hem where I bought the suit from”
Cormac who bought his first Rolls Royce at the age of 20 also talked about cars with Rod adding “We both have owned several Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motorcars and are both in the entertainment industry”
The Bedford

The paintings were created by Martin Georg Sonnleitner who lives and works in Lower Austria.
Talking about the SMILER logo painting Martin told SMILER this week ” It’s 100×80 cm oil on canvas And at this time it is been shown in an gallery in Linz [upper austrias Main city]”
“Next to a painter I am a big Fan of Rod for nearly 40 years…The pink jacket painting is done in an kubistic pop art styleâŚand (I guess) avaiable, The other three paintings are sold “.

K##b Heads
Danny Jones from the band McFly recounted the the infamous flight they shared with Rod on the BBC One comedy show Would I Lie To You? earlier this month.
Danny recalled that the Rod had appeared on the same bill as them at a gig in Ireland, and offered them a flight back to the UK.
He explained: âRod said, âDo you want a lift? Iâll give you a lift on my jet.â Then he said, âI need your passports.â
âSo we get on the plane, give our passports to him and then fly to London.â
Although Rod’s scribbles on the band membersâ passport pages went unchallenged by border control entering the UK, American immigration officers were not so understanding when they later tried to enter the US.
Danny continued: âWe get a call from our tour manager â I think he was applying for a visa.
âThen he was like, âGuys, bad news.â Rod Stewart had drawn willies on our heads. It wasnât fun travelling around â every customs [agent] was like, âYou think thatâs funny?ââ
Danny then noted that although they previously tried to explain their vandalised passports as Rod’s doing, they eventually gave up as staff often didnât believe them. He added: âWe stopped saying that.â
The bandmates eventually applied for new passports to avoid further embarrassment.
McFly once covered The Faces classic Stay With Me for Children in Need and Rod was meant to sing with the lads but decided against it.
When the band were travelling in the bus afterwards to a sell-out show and Rod called Danny â not realising Danny had excitedly put him on loudspeaker.â Rod announced : âYou sounded brilliant Danny! I donât know why you didnât sing the whole song on your own. You sounded much better than that other chap [Tom]! The other oneâs not rockânâroll!â
Tom: replied âCheers Rod!â
Wolfie’s Whisky arrives at TESCO
Rod surprised shoppers on Tuesday morning when he paid a visit to his local Tesco to celebrate Wolfieâs Whisky now being available at the supermarket. Rod launched Wolfieâs in July 2023, and it is now available in over 400 Tesco stores and online through Tesco Grocery Home Shopping for ÂŁ35.
Rod and Penny, stopped by the Bishopâs Stortford store to mark the occasion and see his whisky on shelf for the first time.
âItâs just wonderful to see Wolfieâs in pride of place here at Tesco,â said Rod.
âIâm delighted to think itâs even easier for people to pick up a bottle of Wolfieâs and itâs been lovely speaking to the team here in Bishopâs Stortford to see what they thought of it. They certainly have a taste for the good stuff.â

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
Rod and Jools Holland will be guests on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in the US on CNBC at 11.30 pm CET. on 6th Feb 2024 In addition to a short talk, the two will also perform a song from the new album “Swing Fever” The show will be broadcast on the US channel CNBC in Europe at 11.30 pm CET on Wednesday 7th Feb.
