This Week’s Rod Art

Kayo on the planet

This week we feature some stunning digital art by Tokyo based artist Kayo on the planet

Kayo on the planet

Talking about the inspiration for her work Kayo told SMILER this week “Remembering his stage in Tokyo in my youth, I generated them in cooperation with AI. His performance was passionate and I’m sure it still is”.

“Many years ago, I once went to his concert at Budohkan in Tokyo. It was my first rock concert to go. I was amazed at his energetic performance letting Japanese audience, known as shy people at that time, all stand up and dance with his songs from the beginning to the end. Everything was just Wow!”

“Rod is scheduled to have a concert in Tokyo on March 20, 2024. I’m sure many fans must look forward to seeing him again”

Rod slams Celtic boo boys

On Sunday Rod watched Celtic take on Aberdeen at home in Los Angeles after getting up at 6am to But he told the Scottish Daily Record: “I switched on the telly only to be greeted with boos and jeers around the stadium during the otherwise impeccably observed silence for Armistice Day.

“I was absolutely disgusted. What possible excuse do these so-called fans have for this sort of undignified behaviour?”

As usual some Celtic fans disrupted the minute’s silence for those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in defence of their country on Sunday. A section of the Parkhead support booed and jeered during the moment of reflection before the match.

Sky Sports was forced to apologise to viewers after both teams had lined up before the match. and referee Willie Collum was forced to cut the silence short.

Rod added: “And how on earth do I even start trying to explain it to my sons? Do these people not realise that Scots, Irish, Welsh and English – along with the rest of our Allies – fought and died side-by-side in two world wars to protect their freedom?

“I love Celtic, I love the fans and I love my regular trips to the stadium but on Sunday I hung my head in shame. After this disgraceful display of ignorance, I just wish one of them would stand up and answer a simple question – why?”

But former Celtic manager Neil Lennon defended the supporters when asked about the booing. Speaking on PLZ, he said: “I was at the game and I wasn’t aware of too much of it.

“So, I don’t know if this has been blown out of proportion, but you know Celtic fans make their points when it comes to anything involving the British Army of the Royal Family and for me that is their right to do that. It doesn’t look good at times but we expect it now.”
