With today’s news of Brendan Rodgers leaving Celtic to manage Premiership side Leicester City Rod phoned in to the Talksport Jim White show to say that the news had ruined his holiday,
With the move almost complete Rod said “I’m in Dubai right now, and this has ruined my holiday!
“I actually got a bit choked up.
“He was obviously going to go sooner or later, he’s a great manager, but I would have thought he would have seen out the last two months and get us the ‘treble-treble’, if possible.
“I’d be on my knees telling him to stay.
“Work out a deal with Leicester, they’re not going to win anything! We can make history!
“See the job out! It’s like me giving up half way through a tour and disappointing people. There are going to be so many disappointed Celtic fans.
“I really am gutted. It’s ruined my holiday, Brendan!
“I’m so devastated, I had a bit of a tear in my eye. I just didn’t think it was going to happen.”
