Many of you will have seen pictures of Matthew Roberts this week on Instagram,Facebook and other social media news this week with many saying he should be the guy to play a young Rod in the new movie that has just been announced due to his impeccable sense of style that is straight out of the 70s.
So who is Matthew Roberts?
Born in East London Matthew is a Singer Songwriter and also works a a model, Talking to SMILER this week Mathew says he gets his influences from his family.
“Rod Stewart and John Denver we’re my top hero’s, My dad saw The Faces back in the day and My grandad was into John Denver but I’ve always describe myself as a folk artist from day one”.
On his look Matthew told us..
“Apart from my face looking very Similar to Rod Stewart, my mum’s hairdresser was the first person cut my hair like that.. I just wanted something 70’s looking then it slowly Grew into what you see now. Everyday I get people coming up to me asking for photos etc .. but it was when I got signed as a model that I got known as the Rod Stewart look alike”.
And what does he think of everyone saying he should play Rod in the movie?
“Yeah everyone has been asking me to go for it, but I haven’t got a clue how to cast for it”.
