The Sun’s Who Cares Wins awards will be broadcast on Channel 4 and All 4 tonight [Sunday] at 7.30pm.
Rod and Penny attended the star-studded ceremony at Camden Roundhouse, During the ceremony, Penny handed out the Best Midwife Award alongside Steph McGovern.
Ahead of the gongs, Rod said: “This is the only way were able to show our support.”
Rod also called on the government to raise the wage of vital health heroes when he attended the awards. saying “Hopefully the government will put the percentage of money up for them.
“They need more than a one or two per cent pay rise. I’d happily pay more taxes to give them a proper wage.
“Where would we be without them?”
Piers Morgan also posted a great shot with Rod and Penny from the night on his Instagram account captioning the picture ‘You’re nicked, Morgan…,’ adding ‘Not easy going on the lash with Rod Stewart these days – his fabulous wife Penny is now (very admirably) a special constable with the City of London Police, and carries her warrant card around with her to bring an immediate halt to any excessive partying…’
