It Had To Be You – The Great American Songbook’ was certified platinum in the UK on 13 December. This makes it Rod’s first platinum award for a studio album in over a decade!
‘Songbook’ is Rod’s seventh studio album to go platinum since 1975, others were:- ‘Atlantc Crossing’ (1975), ‘A Night On The Town’ (1976), ‘Footloose And Fancy Free’ (1977), ‘Blondes Have More Fun’ (1978), ‘Foolish Behaviour’ (1980), ‘Vagabond Heart’ (1991).
Platinum discs are awarded in the UK for shipments of 300,000 units.
