Rod virtually attended two charity galas.

Rod virtually attended two charity galas last week, First up he gave his support to CELTIC FC Foundation who hosted their Virtual New York Gala on Thursday 8th and it was a great success, raising a total in the region of $118K/£92K.

Monies raised will be devoted to their ongoing Football for Good Fund (FFGF), to support those who are most vulnerable within Scottish local communities and in North America.

The two-hour Gala was hosted by Hugo Straney, producer and host of the Hugo Straney Show and a familiar face to many Celtic supporters due to his regular involvement in the NAFCSC’s Las Vegas Convention.

After contributions from singer Liam McGrandles, Lisbon Lion legend Jim Craig, and Celtic captain Scott Brown Rod joined in for a live Q&A with Hugo.

On top of his memorabilia contribution which is currently listed in the Silent Auction, Rod very generously made an incredible donation of $10K to the Foundation. During the Q&A, he shared stories from his illustrious music career and his passion for all things Celtic Football Club. On being asked to pick his starting 11 for October 17, his answer was a simple one – two up front. After enthusing about the work of Celtic FC Foundation and confirming how much he was looking forward to another great night in New York in 2021, he sang a verse of beautiful Irish love song, Grace, acapella.

And just before Rod left, he announced the lucky winner of the Prize Draw, who won a premium matchday hospitality package at Celtic Park for two people.

The silent auction, which kicked off on Tuesday of last week and will run until 4pm (New York time)/9pm (Celtic Park time) Tonight [Monday], October 12. You can view the listings and place bids HERE

Rod also gave his support to The Virtual 2020 Carousel of Hope Ball on Saturday 10th. In partnership with PEOPLE, the legendary biennial event, which is dedicated to raising funds for clinical care and diabetes research for the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes and Children’s Diabetes Foundation, streamed exclusively on PEOPLE.com/Carousel, PeopleTV, PEOPLE social

The evening was filled with once-in-a-lifetime performances and special appearances from icons including Rod, Burt Bacharach, Tony Bennett, George Clooney, Dame Joan Collins, Clive Davis, Barry Manilow, Henry Winkler, and many more!

Rod with Kevin Savigar performed a stunning version of Have I Told You lately That I Love You. and wished Barbara Davis a Happy 90th Birthday.
