This week’s news and gossip

Including the Australian tour continues after a short hic up and the latest on our Rod sculpture.

Bad start to the week with the show in Geelong being cancelled due to illness

Good friend to SMILER Costume Designer Fleur Thiemeyer was due to attend the show but did meet up with Rod in Melbourne last week and shared these fantastic shots [Also see main photo[ of her big reunion saying “Mr Stewart and l caught up last night. We hadn’t seen each other for years. Boy did we make up for lost time. The stories, the laughs, the memories. And so many friends from the past. It was an incredible reunion. Thank you everyone for making me feel l had come home”.

Fleur also told us that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame exhibition we featured last week is in correct “They have a sign saying my name above the clothes saying 1972. I didn’t work with Rod until 1977. The Black shirt with beading is mine, and is part of the first clothes l did with Rod.The velvet pants with the flower design l have never seen before. That shirt is a big deal”.

Later in the week the cancelled show was rescheduled for Friday March 31st.

THIN

“The early stages are underway. The base and armature are being worked on, the legs have been widened as requested to make it more Rod like” – Tim.

UK Support Band

The UK support band was announced on Thursday and it is none other than our old friend Boy George and his band Culture Club

Rod said in a statement ‘I’m absolutely thrilled to be sharing the stage with my dear old friend, Boy George & Culture Club for this run of special summer shows. I’m excited for them to join me on what is sure to be a memorable set of concerts at a variety of special venues – some that I’ve been away from for a long time and some that I’ve never played before – football, cricket and rugby stadiums, estates and castles!

We’ll all be dancing under the stars. If you haven’t already, go get your tickets. I can’t wait to see you out there!’
