This weeks Rod Art

This week in celabration of Celtic’s first trophy of the season we feature a stunning work of art from Dubai based Jeweller Fergus James who say’s ‘Legends like Sir Rod Stewart don’t come around often but when they do, at Fergus James we make sure that we deliver them nothing if not legendary jewellery. An inspiration to us all, we felt inspired by Sir Rod to create a bespoke 18K white gold pendant in the shape of a four-leaf clover; a nod to the musician’s lifetime support of Celtic Football Club’.

The clover was made for Rod 3 years ago and the team added ‘At Fergus James we wanted to give Sir Rod Stewart something spectacular so we created a diamond encrusted, rhodium coated four-leaf clover necklace that he could wear with Celtic pride’.

We wanted to go that extra mile and engrave the date that Celtic FC became the first British team to win the European Cup in 1967. The musical legend has already been spotted many times showing off his glamorous necklace on tour and you definitely can’t miss it splashed across his social media, often sporting it on Instagram. It’s an unmistakeably unique piece of jewellery that will have people knowing their answers to Sir Rod’s all-time classic ‘Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?’’.

Finishing Touches

Rod called into Jools Holland’s recording studio at the weekend to put the finishing touches to his new album

The Mullet is back in Toon

Foxy Bingo has announced that it will be launching a new experiential consumer activation in Newcastle this weekend (4-5 March) to enable the public to ‘Get Their Fox On’ by visiting the world’s first ‘mullet-only’ salon.

Tying-in with the brand’s latest TV spot featuring ‘Dirty Gertie’s Salon’, customers in Newcastle will be able to visit a bricks-and-mortar rendition of the wacky establishment to get their very own mullet haircut. Opened by local celebrity Vicky Pattinson, customers will be able to choose from a range of mullet specials – all free – whilst the brand’s iconic ‘BoomFox’ plays party tunes in the background.

And Rod’s barnet has come out on top in new research carried out by Foxy Bingo, narrowly beating David Bowie’s red shock of locks as Ziggy Stardust. Bowie was hair-tied in second place with 80s icon Pat Sharpe, with Roadhouse star Patrick Swayze next in line, followed by footballer Chris Waddle. Other beloved celebrity mullets included Michael Bolton, Hulk Hogan and country singer Billy Ray Cyrus – father of pop titan Miley, who has also sported a similar look.

Rod Number One Mullet

According to the research, people with mullets have more fun than those who don’t – enjoying more nights out, spicier food and a better wardrobe, Being a free spirit, somewhat mischievous and ‘doing the unexpected’, topped a list of attributes those with the 80s inspired look believe they have.

A spokesman for Foxy Bingo, which commissioned the research said: “It’s no surprise to us that those with mullets are having more fun.

“There’s a real mullet movement happening as people get more experimental with their styles.

And yet More Celtic..

Rod also joined Jim White and Simon Jordon on talkSPORT to heap praise on the work Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has done, he also had a sly dig at Rangers fan White as he dismissed any idea of the manager leaving for the lure of the English Premier League. He said: “Ange is up there with Martin O’Neill, Neil Lennon and Jock Stein, all of them. He better stick around and I think he will. He won’t just go off and dump us to manage any team he wants to manage in the Premiership. “He’s going to stick around and cause you lots of heartache. He’s up there with Jock Stein In my money, yeah. He turned this team around so quickly and bought new players so astutely and it has worked. It’s Angeball.

Rod also took a swipe at English football fans who criticise the Scottish game when Celtic fall short in the Champions League after Liverpool were ‘pumped’ by Real Madrid last week.

He added: “Let me tell you, I know you’re a bluenose and I watched the game back in the cold light of day and you were in it. There were a couple of chances Rangers had and you know Old Firm games can turn on a dime but you missed them”.
