Rod has done a fantastic cover of John’s song ‘Some Kind of Wonderful’ on his latest album ‘Tears Of Hercules’ The song was first recorded by John’s group, Soul Brothers Six, in 1967, peaking at number 91 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. The best-known version is by Grand Funk Railroad from 1974 which reached number 3 on the same chart. And John has given SMILER readers his thoughts on Rod’s version in the new issue.

This weeks Rod Art is a very special piece by California based artist Stacey Wells who created this work of art called ‘Lucky Numbers Tonight’s the Night ‘ That Rod has seen and given it the thumbs up.
Of the creation Stacey says ” Rod Stewart signed my art, ‘Lucky Numbers,Tonight’s the Night’ featuring Rod leaning up against his headboard, covered in notches, representing his many women.
The actual artwork is KING SIZE with REAL BEDPOSTS on either side of the canvas. The bedposts are engraved with hearts, containing the initials of some of the women who captured his heart. Rod LOVED it! . He thought my art concept was a really cool idea! Zoom in to see what he wrote❤️
