While visiting Garrison Chapel, Belgravia last Thursday Rod was spotted testing out the Wave benches outside, designer Tom Faulkner said “This is really one of the highlights of my year!”
New Dates
Rod announced two new US dates this week
He will perform on Friday, March 12, at Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, FL, and a few days later at the Amphitheater in St. Augustine.
Tickets for both shows will go on sale this coming Friday.
Posting on social media Rod said “St. Augustine and Hollywood, I’m coming your way in March 2027! I can’t wait to see you all and bring the show back to Florida. Tickets go on sale this Friday. See you there!” – Sir Rod Stewart
This Week’s Rod Art
This week we feature a lovely painting of Rod by the mother of Sherry Rebecca Parton from California who’s name you will know from her regular photographic contributions to SMILER
Sherry told SMILER this week “This is a picture my mother painted and I gave it to Rod at a concert in San Diego in 1989. I took a picture of it with me when Rod got his star on the walk of fame in Hollywood and got his attention and he came over and autographed it for me. If you look closely at his sunglasses you can see him autographing the picture for me”.
Sherry added “If my mom was alive she would be honored it was in the SMILER news, When he was signing it he said he did recognized the painting and remember getting it”
C’mon the Celts
On Thursday it was big European football night at Celtic Park as Celtic took on Hungarian side TC in the Europa League but lost 1-3
Rod will be hoping for a better result when he attends the Old Firm match on Sunday
Penny still fancies Rod
On Wednesday Penny was on the panel of Loose Women and was asked by host Kaye Adams if she still fancies Rod, Penny replied: ‘Oh absolutely. Last night we had friends over for dinner and he just pulled this outfit together like only Rod does and I was like, “Darling, you look good”.
‘There’s sometimes when his hair’s extra spikey and his got a bit of leather on and I’m like “That’s Rod Stewart!”
‘And then there’s other times when he looks classier, he changes his vibe but he is always making the effort and that really attracts me to him.
‘Rod and I are lucky to have this relationship where we in a sense we spend a lot of time apart which makes us really yearn to be with one another when we do see each other so we make the most of those moments.’
She added: ‘I think it’s important to make an effort at all times. You need to focus on yourself because if you don’t feel good about yourself then your sparks not there and they don’t recognise you as the women you fell in love with.
‘Both people have got to make the effort and not take it for granted.’
Talking about what attracted her to him in the first place, she added: ‘It was this veracious energy that he still has at 81.
‘He’s still looking at the tour next year, he’s recording new music and just his work ethic or him going into the gym three times a week.
‘It’s inspiring and for our kids as well to look up to and admire.’

The long awaited autobiography from ex Rod Stewart Group guitarist Billy Peek is coming soon…Billy told SMILER this week he will keep us all posted on this must read book when he has full details, hopefully in a couple of weeks.
