Fan favourites on the set list: Rod brings Paso Robles to a boil
The Stewart tour express is rolling again. After Saturday’s show in Rancho Mirage, Sir Rod took to the stage in Paso Robles, California, last night and once again gave it his all. Both shows were originally scheduled for June but had to be postponed because the singer was suffering from a persistent cold at the time.
The Vina Robles Amphitheatre was filled to capacity, with some of the approximately 3,300 attendees securing their concert tickets at the last minute and only because there had been a few ticket returns in advance.
At 8 p.m. local time, a cheerful Sir Rod, well rested after his five-week holiday, took to the stage in the arena surrounded by a hill covered with oak trees and immediately gave it his all.
‘Infatuation’, ‘Tonight I’m Yours’, ‘It’s A Heartache’ and ‘Rollin’ and Tumblin’’ – the fans were put through their paces right from the start of the evening. After ‘It Takes Two’ and the live hit ‘Twistin’ The Night Away’, Sir Rod allowed himself and the dance- and party-loving crowd a short break to catch their breath.
But as the evening progressed, the 80-year-old hardly left out any of his big hits: ‘Young Turks’, ‘Forever Young’ and ‘Maggie May’ – the evening became the ultimate journey through six decades of music history.
Long-time fans in particular were delighted by the magnificent version of ‘The Killing Of Georrgie’ and the perfectly soulful ‘I’d Rather Go Blind’.
As usual, the band took over during the short breaks, when Sir Rod treated himself to a little refreshment backstage and changed into a new outfit, with classics such as ‘I’m Every Woman’ and ‘Proud Mary’.
As the evening slowly drew to a close after about two hours, Stewart really heated things up again with ‘Da Ya Think I’m Sexy’ and the Faces hit ‘Stay With Me’ before the ‘Love Train’ bid farewell to the stage.

Loose Women
On Wednesday Penny was on Loose Women to promote her new book Someone Like Me
On the show Penny revealed that Rod decided to have more children because of 9/11 saying: “We were honest with each other, and we didn’t actually bring the subject up again until about 2004.
“Out of nowhere, we were reminiscing and remembering those lives that were lost in 9/11, and thinking about all the children that could’ve been born from those couples that had sadly lost their lives.
“And then he turned around and said, “Let’s make a baby!” I’m like, ‘What?!’ So that was my dream come true, so it worked out.”

Rod and the band were back in Vegas on Wednesday and the best drummer around Dave Palmer posted a great photo captioned What a beautiful 1st night in Vegas. I couldn’t be happier… Thank you @sirrodstewart for one more season and counting

No politics. A Wardrobe malfunction, The usual cock ups. Lots of poked dots and the balloons were back!
Rod came back to the Coliseum in Vegas with a fantastic show that rivaled the feeling of the biggest win on a slot machine!
He was fresh and ready to put on a show for an hour and 45 minutes—15 minutes more than he is normally allotted. And I hope that continues for the five remaining shows.
He was flirty and funny and said we were a great audience for a Wednesday night. The venue was almost full.
He announced on the onset that we were here to have fun and no politics! I think that’s the way any given concert should be.
The set list included “Georgie” and the “Motown Song”
but no “Mandolin Wind”, “Stay with Me”, Rhythm of my Heart” or “You Wear it Well”.
He had a wardrobe malfunction that reduced him to the likes of a kid calling for his mother. He called out for wardrobe and she quickly ran out to him on stage. He had rolled up his sleeves which left a piece of material hanging from his sleeve and he didn’t know what to do with it. After she fixed it and left the stage he realized the other sleeve was a problem and in his rock-style manner summoned for her again.
Speaking of wardrobe there was a change in the bottom of all of his slacks. He departed from the straight-legged and a bit shorter to show his colorful socks. Instead they were a wider style and longer almost covering his shoes. Sounds like a small detail but it gave him a different look—shall I say—an older look. I can’t believe I just said that!
The usual cock-ups came when he screwed up the beginning of Downtown Train, dropped an F bomb and started over. And when he introduced “First Cut” it appeared that he honestly couldn’t remember which album it was from. I yelled “Never a Dull Moment” but I don’t think he heard me.
His second to last wardrobe change were poked dots galore. Even the girls had them on. It brought you back to the 80’s and 90’s. I couldn’t hear what he said about them but he was quite pleased with himself.
And the finale in all red brought back the balloon drop during “DYTIS” and “Some Guys” . I love the balloons. It looked like Rod liked them too.
It was a great show. I would have preferred to be there up against the stage with Rod than at any slot machine no matter how big a win! Cha-Ching! It was a great show!.

Rod over Vegas: Rod Stewart is back in his living room
He’s back! Sir Rod Stewart has returned to the stage at Caesars Palace’s Colosseum after a little over two months. In June, the 80-year-old singer had to cancel four concerts in the desert city of Nevada due to a persistent flu. Now he has returned to Sin City in the best of health and spirits.
This Tuesday evening in Las Vegas had a number of musical highlights to offer. Ex-Beatle Ringo Starr took to the stage at the Venetian Theatre with his All-Star Band, while just two miles away, Tears for Fears put on a show at the Fontainebleau. And then, of course, there was Sir Rod Stewart at Caesars Palace.
The Brit has been performing regularly in the gambling city since August 2011, captivating crowds with his ‘The Hits’ show. In a good 90 minutes, Stewart delivered a potpourri of his greatest hits from six decades; every evening at Caesars is an experience for young and old alike. Yesterday was no exception, as Sir Rod performed almost all of his world-famous songs, from Maggie May to Forever Young and Da Ya Think I’m Sexy to Young Turks.
The fans – as has almost always been the case in recent weeks and months – celebrated their own personal party, fuelled by a bouncing, hip-swinging, dancing and energetic mop of hair on stage and his band.
Sir Rod has made Caesars Palace his living room over the years, perfecting the running order of his shows and transferring this pattern to stages all over the world.
Some may find this too much showmanship, ‘the pure music comes up a little short for me,’ said one of the concertgoers on Tuesday. But it should be borne in mind that it is precisely the years in Las Vegas and the more than 200 shows at Caesars that have contributed to Rod Stewart still enjoying his work so much in his old age, still going on tour and still hardly giving retirement a second thought.
