Congratulations Kimberly and Jesse

Rod was at Craig’s restaurant in West Hollywood on Saturday to celebrate the engagement of his daughter Kimberly to producer Jesse Shapiro also in the party were Kimberly’s mum Alana brother Sean and sister Renee

Photos Alana Stewart Instagram

Kimberley posted a picture on Instagram and tagged luxury jewellery designer Anita Ko on the photo of the enormous oval diamond set on a simple band, suggesting that is who made her ring. Steven Stone lead diamond expert, Zach Stone said, “Kimberly Stewart’s ring is sensational. It features what looks to be a 4ct oval diamond, set on a thin gold band. Oval stones are the most popular shape for celebrity engagement rings, with Kourtney Kardashian reigniting the trend last year. A ring like this would have an estimated value of around $170,000, possibly more thanks to its designer label.”

Joe Meek Tea Chest Tapes update

Cherry Red announced they have reached an exciting stage with Joe Meek’s Tea Chest Tapes and this year will see the release of a series of limited edition 10” vinyl release EPs, starting with the Tornadoes and Heinz. These will be followed by some really unique Joe Meek box sets with all kinds of previously unheard-of rarities. The bad news for us is the possible unearthing of what would be Rod’s first recording with The Raiders has not turned up but all is not lost yet, Alan Wilson who is heading the project told SMILER this week ‘No Rod yet but I still have around 300 tapes yet to work on’.

The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Year

A fantastic colourisation By Ray Guselli

In a tweet about Her Majesty The Queen this week , Rod wrote: “The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Year has officially started. She’s been a wonderful example of how to conduct yourself with integrity and grace for 70 years now (just like me!) and we should all look forward to acknowledging her magnificent service! Sir Rod.”

Meanwhile Penny wrote on Instagram : “A radiant smile from our Queen, as she begins her 70th anniversary celebrations. I feel very honoured to have had the privilege of meeting Her Majesty and this year to serve her, in uniform. #platinumjubilee#cityoflondonpolice#specialconstable “

But the tweet has once again angered some of Rod’s fellow Celtic fans including WWE star Joe Coffey who posted ‘Never sing Grace again. Ever’.

And finally

The Watford Observer have been looking back though their online archive of photos that were captured by Watford Observer photographers during the 1970s, among the finds is this great shot of Rod with Elton John and John Reid from 1977
