This Weeks Kenney Art

Lets have a slight change this week as this acrylic painting is so good and have some Kenney Jones Art.

The painting was done by Rachel Allaway a Surrey based artist who we have featured before in our very popular Rod Art section, Infact Rachel is the only artist to grace the walls of the SMILER office with one of her amazing Rod portraits

Rachel told SMILER this week “I’ve watched Kenney in concert 100s of times through the decades. The Faces are my all time favs and Kenney is an awesome drummer. The way he rocks out with the car engine and Ronnie strumming his guitar on the song True Blue is so powerful, I always have that track on when painting.
Kenney is the most humble funny gentleman, off stage I have been lucky to have 10 hours of conversation with him with lots of funny banter. Plus he introduced me to Rose wine, I was a tea drinker until I met him
😂 I love painting him and it’s a pleasure to know he owns my artwork. I am painting a massive painting of Kenney and Rod with the Faces and I will be painting them for the next 30 years with a passion as always”.

Sam Cooke

Recalling his first time hearing Sam Cooke, Rod was gutted that he never got to see the man in action, telling BBC Radio 2, “Sam was probably the biggest influence after Eddie (Cochran). I remember going to work with my mate and we were listening to a little transistor radio. Then this heavenly voice came on, Sam Cooke ‘Cupid’. I never saw him sing. That is one regret. I wish I had gone to see him sing live.”

Paddy Power

The excellent Paddy Power made Rod the butt of one of their infamous spoofs regarding the new Ireland manager
