Rod’s fans don’t usually get to see a support act, more often than not Rod doesn’t have one, but on this first leg of the UK tour we have had a support band and it has been a real treat ‘Moya’ has gone down a storm with Rod’s fans as our fans reviews testify to, in fact I have heard only good things said, and we have had emails asking if Moya will be doing any more concerts with Rod and asking for more info, so SMILER caught up with Moya and asked her what her thoughts were on her tour with Rod..
Moya told SMILER..
‘To be given the opportunity to support Rod Stewart, as you can imagine, is a dream but also the most nerve-racking of situations. I remember when I found out and I was ridiculously emotional, I couldn’t believe I was going to be supporting such a legend. It’s a tough thing supporting a man who has decades of experience, compared with my mere two years, but I feel that I have learnt a lot from Rod; from the way he comandes the audience with his colloquial chat to flipping the microphone stand quite impressively above his head!
I have loved every minute of the tour and Rod and his team have made my whole arena experience such a memorable one. They are a very close knit group and they went out of their way to make me feel included in their ‘family’ and that made the experience even better’.
And What did she think what about all the SMILER’s and other Rod fans..
‘Rod Stewart’s audiences have been so good to me. You don’t know what you’re going to be faced with when you get onto that stage because in the end, the audience isn’t there to see you, but Rod’s fans have to be some of the most warm, welcoming and respectful crowds I have come across. As you can imagine, having a crowd like that makes my job a lot easier! In the end it doesn’t matter if you’re playing in an arena or a small club, it is the crowd that makes a show and the fact that I haven’t had a bad one of this tour, I think says a lot’.

Moya’s next single Come And Get It, which has been played every night on the tour, is out in the UK on September 19th. It will be followed in late October by a new mini album featuring that track, previous single a Little More Love plus 4 brand new songs.
Also You can catch Moya on Sunday at T In The Park and at V festival August 17 and 18. She will be out on the road again in September.
