Rod’s assault case unlikely to go to trial, US court told

Guy Fronstin tells judge August Bonavita case likely to be resolved.

It was reported today that Rod and his son Sean’s ongoing assault case is unlikely to go to court.

The pre-trial hearing, which had been postponed from February due to  coronavirus took place on Zoom.

Rod’s Defence lawyer Guy Fronstin, who is representing both Rod and Sean, told Judge August Bonavita he has been in touch with prosecutors and the case is likely to be resolved before it reaches the trial stage

He said: “We have been in communication with the state. We are asking for one more rollover for pre-trial.

“All indications are this is going to resolve without a trial but there’s still some work to be done on it.”

Neither Rod nor Sean who both have pleaded not guilty joined the Zoom call.

The next pre-trial hearing is set for Friday 4 December.
