Douglas Von Irvin is mysterious character. Not much is known about him other than the fact that he is lead singer and mouthpiece for the theatrical garage rock band Douglas Von Irvinās Carnival. The bandās guitarist and āspiritual advisorā, Dr. āDaveā Prycenstein, is even more of an enigma. The two reportedly met on a dimly lit stage in Las Vegas, joined by founding KISS member and frontman Paul Stanley, while the Dr. was on sabbatical from one of his executive globetrotting excursions working for an unnamed international pharmaceutical company.
The band have been posting a photo of Rod on their social media to help promote the video for the track Cave man Rock with the caption ‘The stars of our Cave Man Rock video with the original cave man. Back in the stone age before he became a pop star, Rod Stewart made rock & roll records with Jeff Beck and Ron Wood and influenced countless singers’.
Explaining the photo Dr. Prycenstein told SMILER today
“We had the pleasure of meeting Sir Rod in Toronto, Canada during his 2018 tour with Cyndi Lauper. Pre-show we were invited to a private listening of his new record where Rod shared some stories of the inspiration then we spent some time backstage at the venue. As big fans, it was a truly unforgettable night.
For us as band, DVIC takes inspiration from an eclectic range of artists. The Faces (as well as Rod’s early solo work) in particular are a group that we pull from. The feel of those records remains timeless. The Cave Man Rock track really is about being yourself and not being afraid to get out there and do it. Rod continuing to create and perform is exactly what Cave Man represents!!”
In addition to Cave Man Rock, the band have released Vampire Lovers with both more tracks and video in the can.
