Rod made a sensational return to Number One in the UK albums charts over Christmas 2019 with his album You’re In My Heart, a collection of his most well known songs re-vamped with the help of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
The album stayed at Number One for three weeks making it his longest running chart topping album since 1979’s Greatest Hits run of five weeks at the summit, exactly forty years earlier!
Last week the album was certified platinum when UK sales exceeded 300,000 copies. The album is Rod’s 22nd to achieve the prestigious landmark in sales. Eight of his albums have reached multi-platinum status, the most successful being 1989’s Best Of Rod Stewart certified eight times making it his biggest selling UK album with sales in excess of 2.4million.
