We had Sunday Roast in “The Angel” before going on to the venue and we arrived not long after 3pm !
After walking round and sussing out the area we made our selves comfy in the VIP area.
The band spent the afternoon warming up which was a rare treat, Janna from Rod’s band waved to us. Which made my day! Easy pleased me lol!
Right T.shirt and sweeties brought we headed for the arena and Max and Joan had front row seats and we were luckily right at the edge nearly centre stage!! Thank you Smiler,
We saw SMILER members Don,Lesley,Fay,Barb and the gang, Then someone in the crowd proposed to his girlfriend and we all cheered ! She said YES !! we all cheered ! They Kissed we all Cheered LOL !!!
Anyway, where was security ??? No where! So to the barrier we rushed and then security tried telling us the show wouldn’t start unless we sat down but someone forgot to tell Rod LOL !! Needless to say they gave up in the end and we were there all night at the barrier, It was great, Rod was in a good mood he had a little complain as he went into Baby Jane saying ‘oh no not another fast one’ but then had a change during the drum solo and came out saying he’d just had his hair done but didn’t know why he bothered as the wind blew it all over the place he said it was a bit nippy on stage.
Rod sang a new track Shake Your Money Maker that he said was on the new album with Jeff Beck and he gave us Forever Young as a treat ! Have I Told You Lately was Brilliant the atmosphere was amazing.
The backing singers sang Knock on Wood and another costume change into a new tartan Jacket then the footballs and Hot legs ! He ended with Sailing and smiles all round !!
It was a Brilliant night and worth every penny, there’s no one who does it better than Rod !!!
