New Faces?

The week started with what could be some very exciting news when in an exclusive interview with BANG Showbiz Faces drummer Kenney Jones spoke of 14 new Faces songs that have been already recorded, a mixture of stuff that was never released which is worthy of releasing and also some new stuff which is ‘really wonderful’. He also said “Rod is writing the lyrics and he’s really keen on it”. Kenney also said the remaining 3 members will also be playing some concerts.

No official comments are being made from any of the management teams or the Faces so we guess it’s watch this space …

Rod gets mobbed over his pint

On 5th September Rod and Penny called in The Barge Inn in Battlesbridge Essex, David Ripo, owner of the pub, said his staff were over the moon with Sir Rod coming to visit, Grace Perkins, the supervisor, served Rod and said to him ‘Are you who we think you are’, and he said ‘I think so’. Grace asked if he would have a photo taken and a few fans were asking for some autographs. but Rod said ‘no’ due to Covid but he said they could take his photo ..The pub shared the image of Sir Rod on their Facebook page, describing him as a “true gentlemen” and a “legend”.

On the same day Rod attended his son Aiden’s team match in Hullbridge, Millwall’s Benik Afobe was there to give under 11’s Bishops Stortford Hoops team their end of season awards

Rod also had his photo taken with a bottle of Old Leigh Rum By Leigh Spirits Co who posted the message ‘What a guy. Coaching an under 11’s team and also likes a spot of Rum!!’

The Wanted

The Wanted’s Tom Parker has revealed that Rod reached out to him after hearing about his terminal cancer diagnosis Tom told The Mirror: ‘Rod messaged me saying, “Listen, I’ve been through this situation. If you ever need to rant, I’m here for you whenever.” ‘What a lovely thing to do, It was so nice of him to do that.’ Tom revealed in October 2020 that he had been diagnosed with an inoperable stage 4 glioblastoma (brain tumour).

Conclusion

The week ended with promising news about Rod’s alleged assault case in Florida drawing to a conclusion after almost two years, with Rod and prosecutors reaching a deal, court records show. Rod was due to stand trial alongside his son Sean over allegations they attacked a security guard at a luxury hotel in Palm Beach on New Year’s Eve 2019. Security guard Jessie Dixon claimed Rod punched him in the ribs during a row over access to a private party in a children’s area. A trial date had been set for September 14th, however court records show Rod’s lawyers have reached a settlement agreement and a final hearing has been scheduled for October 22nd. Judge August Bonavita is expected to sign off on the agreement, details of which were not released. Neither Rod nor Sean have to appear at the hearing.

Happy Birthday Mandy

And last but not least our main photo is of fan Mandy Stenhouse who was out and about celebrating her birthday when she called in her local Hobby Craft store and bumped into non other than Rod! Mandy told SMILER “I said to him it’s my birthday and he replied what are you 35 today?..I didn’t say my real age but I think he was just being a gent”. Mandy also got a glimpse of Rod’s new Ferrari..Very nice!.
