Ronnie ready to join KISS

Paul Stanley from Kiss posted this brilliant picture of Ronnie Wood yesterday saying ‘Ronnie’s twins painted him up. Looks like he’s ready to join KISS!’

Paul is fan of Rod and the Faces and attended The Rod and Jeff Beck reunion gig at The Hollywood Bowl last September he even took this photo [Below] of Rod and Jeff captioning it ‘Rod Stewart Joined By Jeff Beck At The Hollywood Bowl Tonight. AWESOME!’

Back in 1976 Kiss recorded the track “Hard Luck Woman” that became the lead single from their 1976 album, Rock and Roll Over. It was originally written by Paul as a possible track for Rod to record, but after the success of ‘Rod’ sounding ballad “Beth”, Kiss decided to keep it for themselves as a follow-up.

Paul has stated his admiration and love of Rod’s music numerous times, and that “Hard Luck Woman” was inspired by Rod Stewart, in particular the songs “Maggie May” and “You Wear It Well”. While Rod’s music served as a partial inspiration for the song, the nautical themed song “Brandy” by American pop-rock band Looking Glass served as Stanley’s main inspiration.

Sung by Peter Criss, the single was an attempt to follow the success of the hit single “Beth” released earlier in the year by releasing another love song sung by Criss. It proved to be a Top 20 hit in the US, peaking at number 15.

Back in November 2013 Paul and his wife went to one of Rod’s Vegas shows saying ‘Erin and I with Rod Stewart before his show last night.Gentleman, legend and a brilliant singer Impressed again!’
