Sky Arts is currently airing the superb series ‘Guy Garvey From The Vaults

The Elbow frontman and broadcaster Guy Garvey lifts the lid on two decades of TV gold – with era-defining musical performances, long lost studio appearances and revealing interviews that have remained on the shelves for decades.

Guy unearthes rare concert and studio performances as well as revealing interviews with artists that have remained hidden for decades in broadcasting vaults, including ITV shows such as Central TV’s Revolver, Border TV’s Bliss, Granada TV’s Shang -A-Lang and Marc and Tyne Tees Television’s The Tube.

Some of the unearthed gems include Kate Bush live at the Manchester Apollo that was never aired by Granada TV and Blondie’s first UK TV appearance on Granada TV’s news programme Granada Reports plus a superb version of ‘Speak Like A Child‘ by The Style Council that the band played while the cameras for The Tube were still rolling bit the show had gone off air.

But one extra special clip is of Rod’s farewell UK appearance in March 1975 on Supersonic filmed just before he left the UK and became a tax exile in LA.
