Saturday the 3rd. Tensions are high, many fans are keeping their fingers crossed, and thankfully the show was on. Others have written about this show, but the energy was through the roof. The whole front of the crowd stayed on their feet the whole time, they were very engaged, and Rod gave an over the top performance. The place was jumping, with Manny and the rest of the loyal Rod fans leading the way!
Vicky, God bless her, really got things going by tossing Rod one of her knit hats, and he graciously invited her to the stage at the start of “You’re In My Heart”. The crowd responded, and a bunch of lucky fans got to join she and Rod on the stage. For this group, all memories of the Wednesday cancellation are officially forgotten!
The pictures show The guitarists don’t miss a beat as they, and Rod, got into the full face Rod Stewart” tattoo that Genny has on her thigh — now THAT’S a loyal fan!! And later the happy fans unwinding after the show. The streak continues for us, 3 for 3 on soccer balls!
Sunday, final show of the week, and how can we top the last night?
Many of the same people were back, and the show kicked off like Saturday never ended. Fans were really into it, energy was high right from the start.
Rod was equally into it, really gave a great show. Terrie got back on stage, and spent the better part of “Can’t Stop Me Now” with Rod. This could be her theme song since she has a knack for getting on stage! Ruby sang again, and then hung out in the crowd as well. Penny was also spotted earlier in the week, sitting in centre stage, a few rows back, dancing in the aisle and having a great time.
Picture below shows some eager fans hoping for a soccer ball. We ran the table, and finished 4 for 4 on soccer balls, Jill returned the favour and gave Rod a mini Celtic FC practice soccer ball!! — this is one trip Jill will remember!
After the show one of the backup singers came out and hung around and graciously took pictures with the fans. She talked about feeding off the energy of the crowd and how they have such a great time as well. Jill and Barbara agree and had a great time!! Can’t wait until November!!
