Last year we reported that Rod was working on two projects for 2018, We were given a big clue to the first project with the release of the reworking of Da Ya Think I’m Sexy with DNCE and Rod officially confirmed our thoughts today while talking to Argentine newspaper Clarin telling them ‘We were trying to make an album with a lot of young artists, all of them singing my songs. We arrived halfway and we got that song as a single’ Rod also confirmed that the project has now been shelved as his second project ..his new album is on the way.
In the interview Rod confirmed the new album will be produced by the brilliant Kevin Savigar and will contain 11 new songs plus a Prefab Sprout cover, he told Clarin that the album is 98% ready and said he thought it would be released in May. Adding ‘There are very personal songs about friends who have left. It’s a great record and I’m very proud of the result’.
And the title of the new album….’Blood Red Roses’
