The Story of the famous Glasgow Apollo

The Final Countdown

Do you remember the legendary Glasgow Apollo.. back in 1974 The Faces played five consecutive nights – a record for a musical act.

Talisman Films Scotland have put together a DVD that tells the story of the Famous venue that was formerly the Green’s Playhouse. There are interviews with artists who played the Apollo including Midge Ure, Hugh Cornwell (Stranglers), Dan McCafferty and Pete Agnew from Nazareth, Dennis Locorriere and DJ Tiger Tim from Radio Clyde who compered numerous shows at the Apollo and the Clouds Disco above the theatre. In the film you will also see people who give their memories of the concerts they saw at the Apollo

To buy a copy of the DVD for just £10 or selected photos of Rod go to https://www.talismanfilmsscotland.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=8&products_id=48

Cool story Mike, we all make the old venues more romantic as time goes by. 5 nights by the Faces had to be raucous and rowdy! A lot of alcohol consumed by all I’m sure……JD

Happy memories of Greens Playhouse and my first ever concert – The Faces, of course – when I was 14. Was lucky enough to see them another three times before they broke up when Greens became The Apollo. The shows were one big party, a brilliant time to be a teenager! The shows were also my introduction to Rod whom I’ve been going to see in concert ever since💖

saw the faces twice at the appollo first when i was 13 kept going to see rod solo as well will be going to hydro in november 27th concert seeing rod
