Every Picture Tells a Story’ is the third album by Rod Stewart, released in the middle of 1971. Here, he’s toned down with folksy covers of Tim Hardin (‘Reason to Believe’), Bob Dylan (‘Tomorrow is Such a Long Time’), and Arthur ‘Big Boy’ Crudup (via Elvis, ‘That’s All Right Mama’). He tops his interpretive abilities with two originals that have since become standards (‘Maggie May’, ‘Every Picture Tells A Story’).
Now in limited edition colour vinyl.

‘Truth’ was originally released in 1968 and was Beck’s debut solo album and introduced the world to the talents of Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood. Having left the Yardbirds in 1966, it’s an album that is held in high esteem, lauded at the time of release and breaking into the top 15 of the Billboard Top LPs, it has retrospectively been hailed as a classic, seen by many as one of the earliest examples of heavy rock and has also been celebrated as one of the greatest British blues rock albums of all time. This album is newly remastered by Barry Grint at Air Studios

’Beck-Ola’ is the second album by Beck and the first credited to The Jeff Beck Group. It was released in 1969 and broke into the US top 15 of the Billboard 200 and top 40 of the UK album chart. Beck had purposefully made personnel changes to the band in order to take them in an even heavier rock direction from ‘Truth’ This album once again featured Wood and Stewart but would be their final album with the Jeff Beck Group. This album is newly remastered by Barry Grint at Air Studios

Also out this week is SWEET LITTLE ROCK AND ROLLER – LIVE 1984 by Rod Stewart and Jeff Beck
It consists of tracks from Tacoma Dome, Tacoma, WA, USA Sunday July 8th, 1984 on Rod’s Camouflage Tour, To be honest it’s a bit deceiving as only three of the six tracks the pair played on are included but the quality is very good but it’s a shame they didn’t release the whole show.

This week we feature the amazing work of Hungarian artist Ágnes Deak who paints her fantastic portraits using red wine
Her husband Attila told SMILER this week “My wife is a Hungarian artist, she is been painting for almost 30 years, for the past five years she is using red wine for creating artwork This particular painting [below] was given as a gift to a doctor in Hungary, who did surgical operation to my wife in Budapest. The doctor is a huge Rod fan. “.
Ágnes takes up the story “This painting was created for an excellent Hungarian chief physician who saved my life. He is a passionate fan of Rod Stewart, attending all of his concerts, so as a gesture of my gratitude and respect, I painted this artwork for him, hoping to bring him joy. Fortunately, it worked – to this day, he treasures the painting with the greatest care.
Later, I also painted portraits of his daughter and his grandchild, using red wine as the medium. The portrait of his grandchild has since traveled to the United States, to be with his daughter and family.
My Rod Stewart portrait is currently located in Budapest, in private ownership. However, my other Rod Stewart wine portrait [Below] is available to view in Zalakaros at the Vino Art Gallery, where visitors can also explore more than one hundred of my wine paintings.
This painting was created using two types of Hungarian premium red wines. One is the Château Saint Gróth red wine from Dóka Éva Winery, and the other is the 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon from Hujber Winery in Balatonboglár.
The technique I use, which I have named “Vineart” or “Vinerell,” is unique in that I do not use any other pigments or paints – the Rod Stewart portrait was painted entirely with red wine.
This method is truly unique worldwide. I have been creating as a fine artist for more than thirty years, and for almost eight years I have been experimenting with and painting exclusively with this special technique.

Rod told Alan Brazil this morning that he will ‘get throat cut’ if he goes to Ibrox for Old Firm clash on Sunday.
Talking live on talkSport when asked if he would be attending Sunday’s derby He said: “Are you kidding me? Go to Ibrox? I’ll get me throat cut.”
Rod also said Rangers’ season hangs in the balance, warning defeat would leave them too far adrift of their rivals. adding: “It’s unpredictable. It really is. I mean, if they lose, Rangers lose, that’s it. Season’s over with nine points in front.”
Talking about Scottish football he also said: “It’s just been the worst week I can remember. It’s just awful. I must admit, I do feel sorry for McCoisty and Rangers and all of them. I mean, I want to beat them, obviously, but the big picture is Scottish football, you know, and it’s taken an embarrassing turn. Nothing to be proud of.”
