This week’s news and gossip

Carry On With The Tour..[With all these Knobs and Balls that seems a fitting title]. Plus we have the Some Guy’s winner announcement.

The Music Room

Photo The Music Room

Lets start this week in The Music Room, Tony Keefer who runs this fantastic site and took the above photo and our main photo sent us this link to some stunning photos and a review of Rod’s Cincinnati concert from July 12th https://themusicroom.me/rod-stewart-live-cincinnati-july-12-2022/

This weeks Rod Art

This week’s Rod Art is something we have never featured before, a chalk board..

@caryncast.

but not just any chalk board …probably the best chalk board in the world! It was done by Long Island City based Caryn Cast Art who told SMILER this week “I would love you to share this with SMILER members, It was drawn on a chalk board for a craft beer and cheese shop and the lyrics made sense with the beer”

It works for us, the SMILER team would definitely call in for a beer!

Back to the tour…Have you ever seen the rain?

RAIN OR SHINE EVENT !

The tour hit a rainy night in New York on Friday when Rod played Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs

Christina Warrysh was one of the fans who got wet but said ‘What a night! Honestly, there is nothing more amazing than seeing your fave live on a hot summers night complete with a thunderstorm and massive downpour..

We saw the rain

We most certainly “saw the rain” and felt the “lightning in our veins.” It was epic sharing this memory with my family’.

And got lightning in our veins

Despite the thunderstorms Alistair was spotted enjoying the night with SMILER member Madelyn Dwyer LaRosa who told us they didn’t get wet where their seats were.

Madelyn also told SMILER that she had also met Baby Ruby in 1988 and that she hopes to someday to meet grown up Ruby

Rod fan of 50 years with baby Ruby

Francois Tremblay was also on hand to get these great photos

One lady in the crowd had a very special story that ended with CherieAnne Young singing along to her favourite Rod Stewart songs thanks to the support of a caring community.

The 55-year-old Perkinsfield lady secured a special spot in the crowd at the show, with her Hospice Huronia care team, as Rod sang ‘Maggie May,’ her favourite song

Janis Ramsay has been following this story and here are the links to the three reports she did ending with CherieAnne’s sing along.

Well ..sat down to enjoy the official Sky Arts recording of Rod’s appearance on The Raise The Roof concert and Rod was cut out of the highlights!!..What’s that all about you might ask? ….

Dave Swift from the Jools orchestra told SMILER this week “It was Rod’s choice, The reason being, as we’ve been recording an album with him this year and on the Royal Albert Hall Show we did a couple of songs from the new album he didn’t want people seeing/hearing them before the record launch early next year”.
