Recording for the single start today but it is said Rod has already recorded his vocals before he went on holiday.
Rod was also heard on Radio Aid on Monday urging listeners to donate cash, via a video link from the Caribbean, where he is celebrating turning 60.
Rod described how he watched the carnage unfold on TV, “It reminded me of 9/11, It just seems so beyond one’s comprehension, It’s just awful.”
