As everyone might be busy tomorrow, this weeks news and gossip is a day early
Rod this week defended “calling everyone darling” as he blasted woke snowflakes for ruining British terms of endearment.
Telling The Daily Star “People nowadays are too easily offended”
“You’re not allowed to call anybody ‘darling’ or ‘love’ – that’s all out the window now.
“I think that they’re friendly terms, as long as it’s not shouting across the road, ‘Allo, darling, what you got in that basket?
“All the girls in my band I call darling, and I don’t think their husbands or boyfriends are offended. I call men friends darling. I call Elton (John) darling.”
On his womanising youth Rod said: “I did nothing wrong at all.
“I never had sex with anybody underage, never forced anybody to have sex.
The Daily Star even put Rod on the front page
The Day Rod Fell In Love With Celtic

Matt Corr told the The Celtic Star about his visits to Dundee’s Den Park and the day Rod fell in love with Celtic
But by far my favourite Dens memory took place on 14 December 1974. For me, this was King Kenny’s finest hour in the Hoops, hitting a fabulous hat-trick in a 6-0 victory. He was aided and abetted by the one and only Jimmy Johnstone, who scored a double himself, as Dundee were torn to shreds, the late Paul Wilson notching the other goal. In the Main Stand that day, not far from us, was Rod Stewart. Known as a fanatical Scotland supporter, I’ve always believed that this was the day Rod fell in love with Celtic. It was a sublime performance, with, appropriately, the fans constantly chanting the Pilot hit of the time, Magic. ‘Oh, Oh, Oh It’s Magic, you know, it’s gonna be ten in a row’.

Rod told the Daily Record that he has already started on his next recording ..a big band album of swing classics. He also said if Scotland qualify for the the 2022 World Cup in Qatar he would like to be included in recording a new Scotland anthem “That would be fabulous. Maybe Paolo [Nutini] and I can get together with other Scots artists and the team and do a song together.”
Scotland’s anthem for Euro 2020 earlier this year was disco favourite Yes Sir, I Can Boogie and Rod is also up for a cover.

And Finally..

Where will Rod’s new album enter the carts next week?, Rod is hoping the new album will follow his last, Blood Red Roses, to the UK No1 spot and become his 11th UK chart topper but he has big competition from Ed Sheeran and Abba!.
He’s hoping he can do it but feels no pressure that Elton John recently had a No1 with The Lockdown Sessions.
Rod said: “Elton’s album wasn’t doing very well until they released the Dua Lipa song [Cold Heart]. That made a difference. It was her that sent it to No1.”
