“This condition has been exacerbated by recent concert performances, leading to problems with hearing, vision and balance.

“Under his doctor’s instructions, Billy is undergoing specific physical therapy and has been advised to refrain from performing during this recovery period.

Scottish Cup Final

On Saturday Rod and Alastair attended the Scottish Cup Final at Hampden Park..But lets gloss over that as Aberdeen won on penalties But Rod was was said to be in good spirits when he visited one of his Glasgow favourites The Atlantic Bar and Brasserie after the match as he posed for photos with fans and staff at the bar [See our main photo]

On the pitch, Sir Rod would’ve been delighted when his side took the lead, when a Cameron Carter-Vickers header deflected off Aberdeen defender Alfie Dorrington and into his own net in the first half. However, the Dons fought back and an own goal from Celtic keeper Kasper Schmeichel levelled the scoring, forcing the game into extra time. After a tense 30 minutes of extra time, the match was decided on penalties, with Aberdeen keeper Dimitar Mitov making two good saves.

American Music Awards

Sir Rod was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at this years American Music Awards and had some surprise presenters

As he took to the stage Rod learned the presenters were none other than five of his eldest children Kimberley, Sean, Ruby, Liam and Renee.

Rod was visibly shocked and said “I’m absolutely flabbergasted, I didn’t know they were here..I’m so fucking overwhelmed that you are here,”

Rod also thanked his bandmates, past and present, noting how when he was young he had a “burning ambition to sing”.

“That’s all I wanted to do. I didn’t want to be rich or famous. And here I am a few years later, picking up this wonderful award,” he said.

Rod then performed a superb version of Forever Young

Following the show, as people across the country were reminded just how much they love the tunes that made Rod a superstar – and he had an unexpected bonus when three of his songs began climbing the iTunes Top Songs chart in the U.S. Unsurprisingly, Forever Young is the biggest winner, as it was prominently featured during the ceremony. On Tuesday the track was at No. 15 on the list of bestselling tracks on the most important digital download storefront.

Two other tracks— Maggie May and You’re in My Heart — also appeared on the iTunes chart, appearing at Nos. 99 and 164, respectively.

That Peter Crouch Podcast

Rod was special guest on this week’s That Peter Crouch Podcast

On this very special episode of That Peter Crouch Podcast, Pete, Chris, and Sids make a pilgrimage to the stately home of none other than Sir Rod Stewart—rock legend, model train aficionado, and die-hard Celtic fan.

Recorded inside Rod’s private gym and overlooking his personal football pitch, this episode is a goldmine of outrageous stories and charming confessions. From Elton John gifting him a Rembrandt painting, to the infamous drunken Scottish Cup draw, Rod holds nothing back.

He opens up about his lifelong love affair with football, his competitive friendship with Elton, and how his model railway obsession helps him stay grounded (and vocally fit!) while touring the world.

Whether he’s reminiscing about pitch invasions at Wembley, revealing the secrets behind his Vegas shows, or naughty 70’s antics, this is Rod Stewart at his most raw and relatable.
