I can only apologise about the Rod Picture in the video as, after being let down on the ‘Meet & Greet’, I could only try from my seat to get a picture with the CD. I spent nearly all the time doing this and therefore missed most of the concert 😂😂. I received an email from Ticketmaster (as everyone did) to say you were not allow to take ‘This & That’ with one item being a Camera with a lens !!! I had to use my mobile and to try and focus on CD and background was near on impossible. I was devastated that I never got to meet Rod after being promised since January that this was happening but I am only one person in thousands that would of loved to of met him……….. I only wish that no one had promised it to me then I wouldn’t of felt so devastated.
My review on the Southampton Concert.. Rod himself, his backing group, dancers singers, band members etc were ‘absolutely’ fantastic. I have seen Rod many times and it amazes me how professional he is and how much energy his has………… Love this man BUT……. Southampton didn’t put on the best. I paid £125 for my ticket and could only see Rod in the distance (see photo) I have to say the Isle of Wight festival, Faces reunion at the Polo Event in Hurtwood, and Southampton Cricket ground, to name a few, were so much better venues….. I won’t mention £20 for 2 Vodka & Cokes !!!! lol Anyway this is not a reflection on Rod he was/is the best in the business.
I think you know the story of the 60 Celebrity Challenge in memory of my Sister who lost her fight to Cancer. In May this year she would of been 60 so for her birthday I set myself a Challenge to get 60 celebrities to have selfies holding the CD to help promote it. Each selfie I would put on twitter and tag the celebrity in only asking that they ‘like’ or ‘share’ so that people everywhere would know the song and if they wanted they could purchase it from all the major music platforms. I was absolutely gobsmacked how many people helped me to achieve my challenge with some amazing celebrities offering their services. One of my favorites is Stephen Graham……… What an Actor !!!
My daughter Molly Poole who was 16 when we recorded the song, (she is now 18) loved helping out and even managed to get in with a couple of the celebrities…. as did I. It was a massive challenge and I am over the moon that I achieved my target…. maybe one day Rod will have a photo done holding the CD 😊.
