The 2012 edition of the Diet Pepsi campaignin in America will like last year feature Sofia Vergara and features a version of a familiar song by Rod’s daughter Ruby.
Last year, when the campaign was introduced, the commercials used the Sarah Vaughan recording of the song “Whatever Lola Wants” from “Damn Yankees.” (Ms. Vergara ran into the soccer star David Beckham at the beach while the song played on the soundtrack.)
This year, the Diet Pepsi commercials, about Ms. Vergara’s wacky night out at a dance club, will use a remixed version of the song with Ruby Stewart, who is Rod’s daughter.
The commercials are to begin running during the NBC broadcast of the Golden Globe Awards on Jan. 15. Print ads have already started to appear; one is in the issue of People magazine that came out on Friday.
