A Chicago’s Who Who trekked to Lake Geneva for a extravagant bashe on Saturday for M.K. and J.B. Pritzker’s party toasting both her birthday and the couple’s 15th wedding anniversary,
billed as a trip to ”Funtopia,” the Pritzkers’ fete was an imagination-fueled event at their spectacular horse farm on the Illinois-Wisconsin border. Partygoers were treated to actors portraying old-fashioned conductors, magicians and vintage travelers; an array of gourmet food stations under an unusual circular tent (surrounding a stage featuring Cirque du Soleil-type performers and dancers), and then the night’s big surprise: a post-dinner concert starring Rod Stewart, who was reportedly paid $1 million for the private gig, and ironically told the crowd, “You didn’t have to pay to get in!”
