It was announced yesterday that Rod will step in for soul legend Aretha Franklin at The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival on April 28th
Aretha couldn’t perform at Jazz Fest due to doctor’s orders but within an hour it was announcement that Rod would take her place
Rod was a recent visitor to New Orleans when he entertained at the Edymion Mardi Gras ball Feb. 10.
Rod has sang Arethas praises many times over the years and the pair performed together in a 1993 benefit concert to support the Gay Men’s Health Crisis.
