Rod was on Good morning Britain today to talk about his new album ‘Another Country’, and also lauded Taylor Swift for successfully taking on Apple – and asked her to tackle Fifa next.
Rod praised the US star who recently said she would not make her latest album 1989 available on Apple Music, because it planned to pay no royalties to writers, producers and artists during a three-month trial period. Her intervention led the technology giant to perform a u-turn on the issue,
“I was knocked out with what Taylor Swift did,” he said.
“She spoke up and was very brave, she should sort out Fifa,” he said of football’s troubled international governing body.
He then added: “With the Greek situation last week she could sort out anything….she’s gorgeous.”
But Rod didn’t think Taylor would be up for a collaboration saying: “I don’t think she’d want to sing with the likes of me. I’m far too old for her!”
Rod also said of the new album “I make the music for my fans now”.
