Rod and Penny along with nearly 500 people including legendary music producer David Foster attended this year’s Palm Beach Policemen’s Ball on Saturday night at Donald Trump‘s Mar-a-Lago private club.
To start the night they were greeted by the Palm Beach Pipes and Drums playing a rousing rendition of the Scottish national anthem, Flower of Scotland!
Rod got in a bidding war for Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw‘s auction item: a sheriff-for-one-day package that includes lunch with Bradshaw, a visit of the county jail, meetings with SWAT team members and crime scene techs, and for the grand finale, a ride on PBSO’s sleek helicopter.
Rod, billionaire Jeff Greene and philanthropist Michelle Herbert faught for the sheriff’s package. In the end, all three won — for $18,000 each!
The money raised is used to pay for college scholarships for the children of Palm Beach Police personnel.
