Enjoy the rest of the tour Rod ..STL Loved you

Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre St Louis, Mo, 19th August Review By Gina Taylor

Rod was fantastic. He had the crowd on their feet signing and dancing from the second he came on stage. It was nice for him to recognize Aretha Franklin and also St. Louis’ own, Chuck Berry!..And that would have gone down well with Rod’s ex guitar player Billy Peek who was in attendance.

Rod’s band was great and what a variety of instruments they all played! I knew he’d fill the ampitheater! The crowd was very nice – they were all focused on just enjoying Rod’s song choices! I loved every second of his performance! I heard a rumor that this will be his last year of touring. Although, that makes me sad. I’m glad that maybe he’ll take some time to spend with his family. I loved being able to attend what might be his last live performance in St. Louis and boy did he give us a great night!!! We had perfect weather, a great group of fans and an excellent performance!!! Having Cyndi Lauper open up the night was a great treat too! She’s a doll and can still provide her fans with some great entertainment!

Only thing negative is that I would’ve liked to have seen a better choice of T-shirts to purchase on the merch stands. I didn’t end up buying one because they just didn’t seem too exciting – especially for his last visit to STL. I also heard that the venue ran out of all sizes except small before the concert even started (that might have just been a group of ladies complaining or over-exaggerating).

I certainly hope Mr. Stewart enjoys the rest of his tour. By the sound of the crowd, we loved him in STL. I took the shuttle bus from the casino over (much easier than parking). Everyone got on the bus singing and kept it up until we got back to the casino. It would have been even better if the shuttle buses were actually playing Rod’s music (I guess that would be very difficult – since they have so many buses).
