Derbyshire Artist Ruth Marsden has added Ronnie Wood to her list of amazing Rock Star portraits, other stars who have had Ruth’s unique treatment include David Bowie, Frank Zappa, Leonard Cohen, Elvis Presley and Jimi Hendrix.
I first heard about Ruth when I saw a great nude painting on display in a Derbyshire gallery and later learned that it had unbelievably been removed after a complaint by a horrified local resident, Ruth started a mini protest campaign, and tongue-in-cheek, cited Michelangelo’s David as an example of why the genre was normally considered acceptable, the painting was returned to the exhibition!
Earlier this year I attended an exhibition of Ruth’s work at the Derbyshire Open Arts weekend and was blown away by the Rock Star series, I suggested she might consider doing a Ronnie or Rod as they both have really interesting faces, Ruth recently contacted me to say she had now painted a portrait of Ronnie and added him to the list!

All Ruth’s Rock Stars are available in limited edition fine art paper prints and fine art canvas prints.
Fine art paper prints are available in 4 sizes; A4, A3, A2 and A1. Images are printed on to standard paper sizes with a white border around the printed image so that the print can be signed and numbered. Image size will vary according to the dimensions of the original image. Mounted prints will have a 7cm wide mount around the image.
Canvas prints are available in small, medium and large sizes. The sizes will vary according to the dimensions of the original image.
