Ronnie Wood US CD release

10 months after the UK release ‘Not For Beginners’ hits the American market.

Woody has tapped a host of famous and talented friends for “Not for Beginners,” his seventh solo studio album. Released Aug.13th in the USA via Steamhammer/SPV Records, the album features guest appearances by Bob Dylan, Stereophonics singer Kelly Jones, and longtime Elvis Presley players… guitarist Scotty Moore and drummer DJ Fontana.
Also appearing on the 13-track album is former Roxy Music drummer Andy Newmark, veteran session bassist Willie Weeks, Ronnie’s son Jesse on guitar and daughter Leah on vocals. Highlights include a cover of Eddie Holland’s “Leaving Here” and the song “Rock N’ Roll Star,” which is based on the Byrds’ classic “So You Want To Be a Rock’N’Roll Star.” A streaming audio version of the latter is available via the SPV Records Web site… SPV Records

As talented with a paint brush as he is with a guitar, Wood’s paintings adorn the new album’s cover and liner notes. SPV is also readying a Ronnie Wood concert DVD. Aside from the title, “Far East Man,” details have not been released, nor has a specific release date been set.

“Not for Beginners” is the follow-up to Wood’s 1992 studio album “Slide On This,” released via the now defunct New Jersey-based Continuum label.
