Back in April we posted that The Lady Shelters a great band from Japan had covered the Faces classic ‘You Can Make Me Dance Sing Or Anything’
You might remember the band telling SMILER
âWe are very honored to hear from you at the Rod Stewart Fan Club in the UK. The reason I chose âYou can make me danceâ from many Faces numbers was because the vocalist MIZUKI was a big fan of Rod Stewart, longing for him and continuing to sing. And because I love Ronnie Woodâs guitar riffs and strings arrangements on the Faces songs, itâs a pop and very beautiful song.
Iâm very sorry that Ronnie Lane left the band, but Japanese Mr. Tetsu Yamauchi was playing this song and I am proud of the Japanese people. Also, there are many people in Japan who donât know this song, so I wanted to teach it to everyone. And I would like to continue to convey to the world that there are bands in Japan that are influenced by Rod Stewart and Facesâ.
The Lady Shelters have been in touch today to let SMILER members know that the bands latest cover is another Faces gem ‘Maybe I’m Amazed’ the song written by Paul McCartney and recorded by The Faces for their 1971 album ‘Long Player’.
