Last Orders Please – The Faces is the title of the first ever biography solely dedicated to the Faces. It’s also a book about the forgotten era of the early seventies: the three day week, electricity black-outs, the IRA, steak, chips and warm beer!

The 320 page paperback is a long overdue reminder that the Faces were the peoples’ band of the day: a soulful, good-time band that didn’t dress to impress, boozed and played soccer on stage and more than anything, made great records.

The Faces story is told brilliantly by Jim Melly, lecturer in pop culture at the University of North London, journalist, author and lead singer of the indie band My Jealous God.

Titled after the Ronnie Lane song featured on the Faces’ album ‘A Nod’s As Good As A Wink …To A Blind Horse’, ‘Last Orders Please’ is published by Ebury Press in the UK on Thursday 3 April.
