On Saturday Rod and Penny were helping Howard Jones celebrate his 70th birthday
The party was held in a stunning spot overlooking Battersea Power Station in London. .
Title Race
On Sunday Rod and Aiden were at Celtic park to see Celtic lose all three points in the title race losing 1-2 to Hibernian F.C.
Meanwhile Rangers only lost 2 points drawing 2-2 away to Livingstone todays results left Heart of Midlothian F.C at the top of the table 6 points clear of Celtic.
While at the match Rod was presented with a gift of a hand made hat from Hanna Hats by Donegal Town Mayor Anna Gallagher who told Rod “You will wear it well”. Anna Drew the wining halftime tickets, while proudly promoting the businesses, tourism, culture and heritage of Donegal in northwest Ireland.

It was announced this week that Rod, Ronnie Wood and Jools Holland would play the Kings Trust 50th Celebration concert at The Royal Albert Hall on Monday 11 May.
A King’s Trust Celebration, in partnership with TK Maxx is an extraordinary, one-night-only event, celebrating the work of youth charity The King’s Trust as it turns 50 years young.
Hosted by Ant and Dec, this special evening will bring together music, comedy, awards, and unforgettable performances. The night will celebrate the courage, creativity, and achievements of young people supported by The King’s Trust in the UK and around the world.

The phenomenon is about to take off again – why you shouldn’t miss Rod Stewart this year By Martin Heidt
A look back. On 10 January 2026, music icon Sir Rod Stewart celebrated his 81st birthday. At an age when most of us would be more concerned with staying healthy and enjoying life as peacefully as possible, the singer is still going strong.
Whether visiting football stadiums, recording in the studio or attending gala evenings with the King and Queen, Sir Rod continues to live life to the fullest. And that’s not all. In a few days, the indestructible singer will kick off his 2026 tour, which will first take him back to the United States. The 81-year-old will begin his concert marathon in Hollywood (in the US state of Florida). Rod wants to give ‘around 70 concerts’ this year, as he recently revealed in an interview. 37 of them have been confirmed so far. 34 in the USA, one each in Portugal, Italy and Spain in the summer.
Sir Rod had already announced an extensive tour of the UK for next year in December.
The internet portal Ad Hoc News therefore took a look at the Rod Stewart phenomenon and explained why you should definitely not miss one of his performances this year.
And it provides a reason right at the beginning of the report: ‘Rod Stewart is one of those names that immediately brings a song to mind for every generation – and that’s exactly what makes him so exciting.’
Indeed, Sir Rod connects generations thanks to his unique career, which has now spanned more than six decades. At his concerts in recent years, fans of all ages could be seen in the audience. Grandmothers danced with their sons, mothers swayed with their teenage daughters, and grandfathers and grandsons rocked out to the sounds of ‘Having A Party,’ ‘I Don’t Want To Talk About It’ and ‘Young Turks.’ AD Hoc News recognised a ‘mixture of nostalgia, anticipation and pure respect for the fact that this man still fills arenas’ at the shows. ‘It just gives you goose bumps,’ Stewart said, according to the magazine.
Looking back, most of the arenas were indeed sold out for Rod Stewart’s performances. An outstanding fact, even if there were still a few empty seats here and there.
But whether in the USA, Europe or at the end of the year in Abu Dhabi – fans flocked to see Sir Rod.
And that should remain the case, according to Ad Hoc News. ‘A legend live, timeless on record,’ the portal pays Sir Rod the highest respect. ‘His music has been rediscovered by younger fans in their parents’ and grandparents’ record collections, and as a result, Stewart is also appearing more and more on social media.’
On TikTok, Instagram and other platforms, his tracks keep popping up in nostalgic edits, couple videos or funny throwbacks. In addition, numerous live clips on various portals are proving hugely popular.
Many who were previously unfamiliar with Rod Stewart and his music are now acquiring a taste for it when ‘the older rock star in a suit, with hair like a storm and a voice like sandpaper’ sings the songs that many regularly hear on the radio.
This also explains why the audience at a Rod Stewart concert is so diverse. But that’s not the only reason, because first and foremost, Sir Rod is still a brilliant entertainer who knows how to captivate his fans with his charm, his way of putting on a show and, of course, his music.
