We showed a photo of Eduardo Avendaño Pavez and Rod before the show last week and here is an even better photo after the show at the entrance of the hotel, where Sir Rod took pictures with 6 fans, Before the third show Rod also met Argentine singer-songwriter Charly Garcia and shared a moment together. Charly gifted him a vinyl of his new single alongside Sting, “In the City.”

Honorary citizen Rod Stewart bids farewell to Argentina – what a fiesta it was
Three magnificent evenings, three sold-out shows at the Movistar Arena, around 50,000 fans enthusiastically celebrating the music legend with the tousled hair and big nose, turning Sir Rod’s three-day mini-tour into an event that will be hard to match.
At the end of his guest appearance in the Argentine capital, Sir Rod was also given a special honour. On Friday afternoon, the 80-year-old musician was named an honorary citizen of Buenos Aires during a short ceremony. The singer appeared in a light blue striped suit with a matching shirt, and as soon as he entered, he immediately brought smiles to the faces of those present with his greeting and spontaneously performed a little serenade in the form of his hit ‘Da Ya Think I’m Sexy’.
City councillor Pablo Donati opened the ceremony with a few brief introductory words, in which he recounted how he heard ‘Da Ya Think I’m Sexy’ as a young boy while visiting a bowling alley and became a fan of the singer from then on.
He then delivered the official words: ‘The Legislative Assembly of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires declares the renowned British musician and composer Rod Stewart an honorary citizen by means of Declaration No. 171 of 2025.’
The newest honorary citizen of the Argentine capital was then presented with his certificate of appointment, and the ardent football fan also received a gift of an Argentine national team jersey with the number 10 and his name on the back.
Rod was visibly moved and, in a short speech, thanked the fans in particular: “I have never received such an honour before, in any of the cities I have visited in my entire life. It is a great honour. Today is the last of three sold-out concerts and, believe me, I don’t say this often, but it is the best audience we have ever had. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I feel at home and it is a pleasure to be in the country that has given the world two of the best footballers: Messi and Maradona.”
Afterwards, a few photos were taken and then Sir Rod left the Eva Perón Hall with his wife Penny in tow, bidding farewell to those present with a heartfelt ‘God bless you all’.
In the evening, the newly appointed honorary citizen took to the stage at the Movistar Arena for the third and possibly last time. Like the two previous days, this evening was also hard to beat. Buenos Aires celebrated with hits such as Maggie May, Baby Jane, Young Turks, Tonight’s The Night and Sailing, throwing a huge fiesta and certainly not making Sir Rod’s departure from the Argentine capital easy.
After around 20 concerts in the last four weeks, the singer can now look forward to a break. At the end of November, the Stewart Express will be back on the road. The next concert is scheduled for 25 November at the Barclays Arena in Hamburg. Stewart will then play eleven more shows until the end of the year, ending his intensive 2025 tour with a performance at the Etihas Arena in Abu Dhabi on 17 December.

Rod was also presented with another Argenina football shirt by Seba De Caro who said “I wore that Celtic shirt today and the same day I went to the hotel to see if I could see it. I wanted to sign it for my own motus. It will never be used again, it will be a picture”.

Richard Marx to Release New Album Featuring Rod
Grammy award winning singer, songwriter, producer, and best-selling author Richard Marx has announced his new album After Hours, released on January 16, 2026, the album will feature his take on The Great American songbook standards Alongside the announcement, Marx has shared the new single “Big Band Boogie” (feat. Kenny G). Other featured guests on the album include Rod who duets on Young At Heart, Chris Botti, Randy Waldman, Tom Scott, Drea Tomè & more.

Next stop Brazil
Rod started the week in Brazil with a special visit to one of the world’s most iconic landmarks, Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro.

Rod also visited Nido Ristorante, manager Marco Aurelio and chef Rudy Bovo got a superb photos of Rod
Paula Bezerra de Mello who’s maternal grandfather, Paulo Magalhães, composed the official anthem of Flamengo a Brazilian multi-sports club based in Rio de Janeiro . told Rod her story and presented him with a club shirt.
Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance 2025
On 8th November Rod will be appearing on the BBC One annual performance
The annual commemorative performance from the Royal Albert Hall, featuring performances from Rod Stewart, Blessing Offor, Sam Ryder, Keala Settle and the Wellermen, as well as the Central Band of the RAF, the RAF Squadronaires, the King’s Colour Squadron, and The Band of HM Royal Marines. The Festival will commemorate both the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War and the 25th anniversary of the UK Government lifting the ban on gay, lesbian, and bisexual personnel serving openly in the armed forces
