With the news last week that Rod and Elton will be contributing to the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee concert in July this week’s Rod art is a superb cartoon of Sharon and Phyllis by Illustrator / cartoonist Reg O’Connell from PA, USA based on a photo from Studio 54 in 1978.
Talking about the inspiration for the cartoon Reg told SMILER this week ” I simply love the funny dynamic between Elton and Rod, the way they’ve always been friendly rivals and make friendly banter towards one another. So when I saw this particular candid photo of them in a club together, I just had to doodle it- I love drawing cartoonish caricature type content and this photo instantly inspired me in that way. 😆”

Rocket Man
After the US Congress hosted their first briefing on UFOs in more than 50 years on Tuesday Jo Wood told GB News hosts Eamonn Holmes and Isabel Webster that she had been “obsessed with all things alien and UFO” since she and Ronnie caught sight of something in the sky back in the 90s.
“I saw a great UFO in Brazil a few years ago,” Jo recalled. “And it was very clear it was a UFO because it just rose up and zoomed off at speeds that were unbelievable.”
Recounting the night of the close encounter, Jo explained: “I was packing the kids’ bags to go, and Ronnie said, ‘there’s something weird out there’.
“I went out and it was – I’d never seen anything like it. It was just so amazing.”
