Tonight Rod and his daughter Ruby played a humorous and heartfelt 20 minute mini concert as part of a partnership with @WHO and @GlblCtzn to bring attention to important action we can take to help slow the spread of #coronavirus.
The show started with Rod and Ruby sat playing guitars on The faces classic Ooh La La, they also looked at messages sent in by hundreds of fans including Smiler.
A great version of Dirty Old Town was the second song before they moved over to Ruby’s piano for a version of Swing Low Sweet Chariot, but not before Rod showed us how his hair is now that long he can make it look like a Boris style
Rod and Ruby thanked the NHS and US doctors and nurses and sent a get well message to prime minister Boris Johnson telling him “We love you” Rod also mentioned his sister Mary and both his brothers.
The show’s final was a chaotic version of forever Young when the rest of the family Aiden, Alastair and Penny joined in.
The show ended with more thank you’s to the medical teams around the world and Rod thanked all his fans before ending with a Penny led We’ll meet again
Ruby also mentioned that on a serious note tonight was done to raise awareness for global citizen for more information go to https://www.globalcitizen.org/en/campaign/stand-together-to-beat-coronavirus/
Thanks Rod and your amazing family for lifting everyone’s spirits at the start of the bank holiday weekend
