Rod has managed to make it on to Radio 1’s trendy playlist thanks to his inclusion on the ASAP Rocky hit ‘Everyday’
News of Rod’s vocals being played on Radio 1 received a positive response from music fans.
One wrote on Twitter: ‘Rod Stewart has managed to get himself onto the@BBCR1 playlist. Love it’
Rod also met up with celebrity fan actor Robert Carlyle who admitted he turned into fan boy after meeting Rod on Tartan Army duty in Dublin last week at the Scotland v The Republic of Ireland match, Robert told his fans: “Look who I met at the football yesterday.. Only my hero @rodstewart.”
Robert has been a fan of Rod for decades, saying: “I became a big, huge Rod Stewart fan. And then my love of Rod Stewart turned to people like Nick Drake, John Martyn, Bob Dylan, and people like that.”
Former football star Paul McGrath who was also at the big match and met Rod, Tweeted to his followers that he “admired” Rod for years and that the encounter was “an honour”.
And yesterday Kellin Quinn, lead singer of US rock band Sleeping with Sirens was singing Rod’s praises on Instagram
