The Wagner Noël Performing Arts Center will see its official opening with its Grand Gala concert featuring Rod at 8 p.m.on Tuesday.
With his performance, Rod will usher in a new era for the University of Texas of the Permian Basin and the Odessa-Midland area.
“A performing arts center has been a dream of Midland and Odessa for over 50 years,” UTPB president David Watts said. “I think we’ll be able to see that we’ll attract Broadway shows and (other) musical events.”
Rod will be performing at a state-of-the-art entertainment venue. Tickets were available at $450 for the upper balcony, $500 in the mezzanine and $700 for orchestra seating. UTPB officials announced on Thursday that all 1,800 tickets were sold.
